A psychiatry clinic in Massachusetts came to PhysiAssist in 2025 with a large AR backlog. In 75 days we recovered $1M through targeted denial management and automated claim workflows, and days in AR fell from over 90 to under 40.

The situation
The clinic was seeing patients steadily, but a large share of past claims had never been paid. Days in AR had passed 90, and denied claims were piling up faster than staff could work them.
Psychiatry denials are often small rules done wrong: an add-on code without the right E/M, a telehealth modifier a payer does not accept, an authorization that ran out.
What we did
Every open claim grouped by payer, age and denial reason, so the biggest recoverable dollars came first.
Corrected claims and appeals by denial pattern, not one claim at a time.
Payer rules for add-ons, telehealth and authorizations built into claim checks, so new claims stopped repeating old errors.
Every corrected claim tracked until it paid, with payer escalation where needed.
