PhysiAssist runs dental billing and revenue cycle management: benefits verified before each visit, CDT coding with the right attachments, claims, denials and AR. Because we are a medical billing company too, we cross-code procedures that qualify for medical plans, such as sleep apnea appliances, TMJ and oral surgery.

The basics
Dental billing services manage a dental practice's revenue cycle: insurance verification, CDT coding, claims with x-rays and narratives, payment posting, denials and AR follow-up, and patient billing. Medical billing for dental procedures, or cross-coding, bills medically necessary dental care to medical plans with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes.
Maximums, frequencies, waiting periods and downgrades confirmed before the chair.
Every claim sent with the x-rays, perio charts and narratives it needs.
Sleep apnea, TMJ, oral surgery and trauma billed to medical plans.
Frequency, downgrade and missing-information denials appealed and fixed.

General, specialty and multi-location
Most dental billing companies stop at the dental claim. We bill both sides, so a sleep apnea appliance, TMJ case or oral surgery goes to the plan that should pay it.

Pricing
One rate of 2.8% to 5% of net collections, quoted in writing before you sign. Where you land depends on monthly collections, specialty mix, the scope of services, and your AR backlog and payer mix.
The rate covers medical coding, claim submission, payment posting, denials and AR follow-up. Front desk services, prior authorization, the reporting dashboard, patient statements, credentialing and digital marketing are quoted separately.

Dental revenue cycle management is the full cycle from verifying a patient's benefits before the appointment, through coding and claims, to collecting from the insurer and the patient. It covers both dental plans and medical plans when a procedure is medically necessary.
Yes, when they treat a medical condition or follow trauma. Sleep apnea appliances, TMJ treatment, oral biopsies and some extractions and implants can be billed to medical plans with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes on a CMS-1500 claim.
CDT codes are the American Dental Association's procedure codes for dental claims, such as D0120 for a periodic oral evaluation, D1110 for an adult cleaning and D6010 for an implant. Medical claims use CPT and HCPCS codes instead.
Before each appointment we confirm active coverage, plan maximums used and remaining, deductibles, frequency limits, waiting periods, downgrades and missing tooth clauses, so the treatment plan and estimate are accurate.
Yes. We enroll dentists with dental PPOs and, for practices billing medical plans, with medical payers and Medicare where needed.
